What to Expect

During your first visit to Midnight Sun Animal Hospital + Emergency Care one of our friendly staff members will greet you at the front desk upon your arrival.  Bring any medical history you have for your pet when you come to the hospital. If you keep a pet journal documenting past medical issues or behavioral changes, please share this information with our team. If you’re unsure of past medical history, let us know everything that you think will be important. Our doctors can still work with whatever information you have.

We are a “paperless” veterinary practice so we won’t inundate you with forms to fill out during your first visit.  Rather, you will be asked a series of questions about you and your pet.  This information will immediately be entered into our state-of-the-art and secure practice management system for review by our doctors and veterinary technicians.

When your pet is ready to be seen, a veterinary technician will take you and your pet to a clean and comfortable exam room. The veterinary technician will review your pet’s medical history and take your pet’s vitals, and then a doctor will go into more detail about any past history or current problems prior to the physical examination of your pet. The medical history portion of the exam is extremely important as this information helps us understand your companion’s lifestyle and any risk factors, which will determine the preventive health care best suited to his or her needs. Once we learn a few things about you and your pet, the doctor will perform a thorough physical examination, communicating any findings to you as they occur so you have plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

PAYMENT INFORMATION AND POLICY

The doctors and staff at Midnight Sun Animal + Emergency Care understand that you want to do what is in the best interest of your pet. Sometimes the costs associated with these decisions can be difficult to understand or, unfortunately in some cases, difficult to pay.  That is why we work to provide you with several options that will benefit your pet, allow for optimum quality of life, and enable you to feel comfortable with your choice.

Health Care Estimates are provided before all major procedures and emergency services. These are developed by your pet’s doctor and include an approximate range of charges that may be incurred for services and procedures while your pet is hospitalized.  One staff member will relay additional charges that may cause your bill to exceed the highest end of this plan to you. We require that half of the high end of the Health Care Estimate be given as a deposit for all major procedures with the balance due at the time of pick-up.

Our hospital accepts the following forms of payment* at the time services are rendered:

  • Cash

  • Debit Cards

  • All Major Credit Cards -Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover

  • Cashier’s Checks

  • Money Orders

  • Care Credit – A convenient 0% interest-financing plan that allows qualified applicants to divide payments over 3 or 6 months. Please ask us how to apply. Or go to www.carecredit.com, and apply from the comfort of your home.

  • Pet Insurance – While this still requires that you pay your medical bill directly to our hospital, we are happy to help you with any of the necessary paperwork that will streamline the reimbursement process from your insurance provider.

*We no longer accept personal checks. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

We realize that you have choices when it comes to your pet’s medical needs and we appreciate you choosing Midnight Sun Animal Hospital + Emergency Care to care for you and your pet.
